All the products are Icelandic designs and handmade in Sierra Leone from local materials, produced using the local tradition, and each product is therefore unique.
It is a project that is about connecting Icelandic designers with craftsmen, sharing ideas, working together and learning from each other. Since its inception through the Aurora Foundation in 2016, it has managed to greatly improve the quality of life of people in the area, and the artisans are paid a fair wage for their work. Sierra Leone is a fascinating society where people of various religions live together in peace and harmony. But despite the country's incredible beauty and rich resource base, it has one of the lowest per capita incomes in the world.
There were a number of people who celebrated with us the opening of Sweet Salone in As We Grow, as it is an extremely positive initiative and what is better than giving a gift that gives back.
